Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu has expressed his appreciation for the high-level efforts to free the hostages in the Gaza Strip, recalling the strategic partnership between Romania and Israel.

"After 470 days of captivity, two women with Romanian citizenship and Romanian origin have been released from Gaza and will return home following the agreement between Israel and Hamas. Their courage to resist in captivity in such difficult conditions is a source of inspiration for us all. I would like to express my appreciation for the sustained and substantial efforts of the high-level mediators from Qatar, the US, Egypt and Israel who have made it possible for this good news to reach the families of the hostages today," the Prime Minister posted on Facebook.

According to him, the full implementation of the agreement needs to continue so that all hostages can be released safely and we remain in solidarity with the families who are still waiting for their loved ones to return home.

In a message broadcast simultaneously on X, Marcel Ciolacu recalled the strategic partnership between Romania and Israel.

"Romania and Israel share a relationship of strategic importance, and solidarity is part of our ties. We will continue our joint efforts to promote peace and security and to implement the various economic and security projects that we have agreed on with Prime Minister Netanyahu," the prime minister said.

He announced that preparations are being made for the joint government meeting to be held in Bucharest, in which the Israeli prime minister is invited to participate. AGERPRES
