Prime minister-designate Ilie Bolojan on Saturday stated that the Executive he is going to lead will be one of sacrifice, prepared to ''demolish'' privileges, self-interests, and cut unnecessary expenses.
He attended the USR (Save Romania Union) Congress, where he talked about the future Government, agerpres reports.
"I looked at the slogan that your team prepared: get ready to build! Well, I think this is the ending part, actually, and maybe it was better to say: get ready to demolish privileges, self-interests, get ready to cut unnecessary expenses, inefficiency! Get ready to suffer alongside Romanians, because this won't be an easy period, and yes: get ready to build, because it can't be done without construction," said Ilie Bolojan at the USR Congress.
He sent a message in his dual capacity as prime minister-designate and president of the PNL (National Liberal Party): "I tell you openly that the time for words is over and the time for deeds is ahead of us!"
He pointed out that a large-scale restructuring is needed.
"Whoever has done even a restructuring in a small institution, please think about what it means on a large scale. It will be a very big challenge to govern properly, with good rules that generate correct behaviors and, indeed, to have good governance, because only this creates conditions for development, while not wasting money, and only this creates healthy mentalities and it will not be easy to do this. It will be difficult to regain the trust of citizens," said Bolojan.
The prime minister-designate appealed to the parties in the coalition to seek to regain the trust of citizens.
"It will be difficult to regain the trust of the citizens, but for this we must, first of all, have trust in each other. And I hope that, first of all, our parties will also make every effort to regain trust in each other because the coming period will be very complicated and if we do not forget a little bit abut the party interests and stand by each other when it will be very difficult, you realize that things, in a coalition of four parties plus the minority group, cannot possibly turn out well," Bolojan said.
