Prime Minister Viorica Dancila, who is paying a visit to Brussels, met on Wednesday with co-chairs of the European Parliament's Greens-European Free Alliance (Greens-EFA) Franziska Maria Keller and Philippe Lamberts, whom she presented the political situation of Romania and the reform programme initiated by the Government.
According to a release of the Executive sent to AGERPRES, the discussions were also attended by European Funds Minister Rovana Plumb.
The talks focused on the two coordinates highlighted during the meetings on Tuesday with the political group leaders of the European Parliament, namely Romania's internal situation and the European agenda, the Gov't mentions.
"PM Viorica Dancila briefly presented the political situation of Romania, in view of the debate which will take place at the European Parliament in the beginning of October. Moreover, the PM presented the reform programme initiated by Romania's Government, showing that this is the result of an extensive process of transparent consultation and interinstitutional cooperation, at an internal level, as well as of a collaboration with the European partners," the release mentions.
The PM reconfirmed "her entire availability for continuing the open dialogue with the European institutions."
The discussions continued with a presentation of the stage of preparations in view of Romania taking over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, in January 2019, the release revealed.
PM Viorica Dancila is paying a working visit to Brussels on Tuesday and Wednesday, context in which the PM scheduled a series of meetings with representatives of the European Parliament political groups. On Tuesday the PM met with head of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats of the European Parliament Udo Bullmann and with leader of the European People's Party Manfred Weber.
