Leader of the Alliance for the Unity of Romanians (AUR) and Vice-President of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) Party George Simion on Friday told a press conference in Cluj-Napoca that the interest of the ECR is to keep Europe and America together, because as a party with a clear vision on the future of the European Union and of NATO, the European Conservatives and Reformists Party understands that one cannot exclude the Trump administration and the United States from the future of the free world. Simion also hailed the presence these days in Cluj-Napoca of 45 conservative leaders from the EU, Great Britain and the United States.

He stressed that his party is interested in the future of Europe and the future of the free world.

"That is why it is important to stay united, our vision is to hold the European Union, Europe and America together. Only in this way will we succeed, only in this way will we be strong, supporting free elections and democracy, and I believe that the messages received so far from Washington have been sufficient for all decision-makers in Romania to understand that it is time to resume the constitutional course and return to the rule of law, democracy and free elections," George Simion said.

The ECR Leaders' Summit took place in Cluj-Napoca over March 26 - 28 with the participation of over 45 conservative leaders and personalities from the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States. The working sessions included debates on the economic and cultural prospects of EU-US cooperation, the strengthening of European societies, combating illegal immigration and reducing the gap between Western and Eastern Europe.

The participants included ECR President Mateusz Morawiecki, ECR Group Co-Chairs Patryk Jaki and Nicola Procaccini, as well as MEPs from Italy, Poland, France, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Croatia, Spain and Romania.
