Over 29 million euros is available for investments in aquaculture and fish product processing through two strategic actions related to the Aquaculture and Fisheries Program (PAP) 2021-2027, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) announced on Tuesday.
"MADR, through the Directorate General of Fisheries - Management Authority for POPAM (DGP-AMPOPAM), announces the launch of the sessions for submitting funding applications for the Aquaculture and Fisheries Program (PAP) 2021-2027, for two strategic actions: Action 2.1.1 - Investments in aquaculture and Action 2.2.1 - Processing of fishery and aquaculture products. The total allocated budget exceeds 29 million euros, with the objective of modernizing the aquaculture sector, increasing the added value of fishery products and strengthening food security", MADR said in a release.
For Action 2.1.1 - Investments in aquaculture, a budget of 133.6 million lei (over 26 million euros) is allocated, intended for the establishment, expansion and modernization of sustainable aquaculture units, including through digitalization, the use of renewable energy, species diversification, ecological aquaculture, circular economy and risk management.
The non-reimbursable financial support granted for aquaculture projects is between 25,484.50 lei and 30,581,400 lei, and the submission period is January 20, 2026 (5:00 p.m.) - February 19, 2026 (5:00 p.m.), specifies the MARD.
Regarding the processing of fishery products - Action 2.2.1, the allocated budget is 17.7 million lei (over 3 million euros), for the establishment, expansion and modernization of processing units, with an emphasis on energy efficiency, digitalization, circular economy, traceability and short marketing chains.
The non-reimbursable financial support granted for processing projects is between 25,484.50 lei and 7,645,350 lei, and the submission period is January 20, 2026 (12:00) - February 20, 2026 (12:00)
The applicant's guides are available on www.ampeste.ro, and funding applications are submitted exclusively online, through MySMIS2021 (https://mysmis2021.gov.ro/), with a qualified electronic signature.
The total allocation of the Aquaculture and Fisheries Programme 2021-2027 is 232 million euros, of which 162 million euros represents the European Union's contribution.
