President Nicusor Dan stated on Thursday that Peter Magyar, the leader of the Hungarian opposition who won the elections in Hungary, presents himself as a pro-European politician, and this can be evaluated based on his future actions.

"All I can say is that we have an entire Hungarian public, which is in a, let's say, nationalist-sovereign area, and then Mr. Magyar is a representative of these people. He defines himself as pro-European, we will see in his future actions, I think we can, intuitively, see him somewhere in an area close to Mrs. Meloni, as a European political action," said Nicusor Dan on Europa FM, when asked if Peter Magyar is a reformist politician or a younger version of Viktor Orban.

Asked if UDMR leader Kelemen Hunor should resign after supporting Viktor Orban, the president replied: "This is about the correspondence between the politician and his audience."

He added that, according to information published in the press, the Hungarian electorate in Transylvania massively supported the Hungarian prime minister.
