New code yellow warnings for freezing weather Monday through Wednesday

The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued new code yellow warnings for freezing weather on Monday, which will gradually affect the entire country until Wednesday morning.

According to meteorologists, on Monday between 10:00 and 20:00 a code yellow for particularly low temperatures will be in force in Banat, Crisana, Maramures, Transylvania as well as in the mountain areas, where values between -8 and -6 degrees will be recorded and isolated severe frost may occur, with temperatures around -10 degrees.

In addition, between 12 January at 20:00 and 13 January at 10:00, a second code yellow for frost will be in effect across most of the country. Thus, on Monday night into Tuesday, minimum temperatures will generally range between -19 and -9 degrees, with the lowest values in Transylvania and the mountain areas.

The specialist forecast also shows that from Tuesday morning until Wednesday at 10:00 another code yellow for freezing weather will cover Maramures, most of Transylvania, the northern half of Moldavia and the mountain areas. In these regions, maximum temperatures will range between -9 and -3 degrees, while minimum temperatures will be between -13 and -6 degrees.
