Monthly average income stands at 9,420 lei per household, expenditure at 8,079 lei in Q3 of 2025

The total monthly average income was, in nominal terms, 9,420 lei per household accounting for 3,789 lei per person in QIII 2025, decreasing by 0.9% both per household and per person, compared to QII 2025, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS) data.

Compared to the third quarter of the previous year, the total monthly average income per household increased by 14.1% and the total monthly average income per person increased by 14.9%.

In QIII 2025, the total monthly average expenditure of the population was 8,079 lei per household (3250 lei per person) and accounted for 85.8% of the total income, an increase of
36 lei per household compared to QII 2025. Compared to the third quarter of the previous year, the total monthly average expenditure per household increased by 15.2% and the total monthly average expenditure per person increased by 16.0%.

In QIII 2025, the monthly average monetary income was 8,885 lei per household (3,574 lei per person), decreasing by 0.5% compared to QII 2025, and the in-kind income was 535 lei
monthly per household (215 lei per person), decreasing by 6.8% compared to QII 2025.

Gross salaries and other salary rights amounted to 6,443 lei monthly per household and were the most important source of total income (68.4% of the total household income, decreasing by 0.7 percentage points compared to QII 2025).

Significant contributions to the formation of the total household income were made by the income from social benefits, with 1,892 lei monthly per household (20.1% in QIII 2025 and 19.4% in QII 2025, respectively, of the total household income), and by the in-kind income with 535 lei monthly per household (5.7% in QIII 2025 and 6.0% in QII 2025, respectively), which consists of the value of the in-kind income obtained by employees and recipients of social benefits (1.2% both in QIII 2025 and in QII 2025, respectively) and the value in lei of the food and non-food products consumed from own resources (4.5% in QIII 2025 and 4.8% in QII 2025, respectively).
