"We express our deep concern regarding the escalation of the security situation in the Middle East. Diplomatic efforts are imperative to prevent further escalation and to ensure a verifiable negotiated solution regarding the Iranian nuclear programme, based on the principle of non-proliferation," reads a press release of the MAE sent on Sunday to AGERPRES
The MAE reiterates "Israel's right to defend itself and protect its people" and believes that "regional security requires active diplomatic engagements."
