Romania's January - July final electricity consumption amounted to 32.472 bln kWh, up 2.1 percent from the same period of the year before; public lighting consumption was 3.5 percent down YoY, and household consumption was 11.2 percent lower, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) said on Tuesday in a release.
Electricity exports in the reporting period stood at 3.483 bln kWh, by 679 million kWh less YoY, while the own technological consumption in networks and transformer stations was of 3.495 bln kWh, by 32.5 million kWh lower.
Primary energy resources increased by 2.6 percent over Jan - July, and electricity resources dipped 0.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. The main primary energy resources were in excess of 19.794 million tonnes of oil equivalent (toe), up by 506,200 toe versus the previous year.
The domestic output totaled 12.202 million toe, down by 55,500 toe from the same period last year, while imports amounted to 7.592 million toe.
Electricity resources totaled 39.450 bln kWh, by 37 million kWh less compared to the similar period of 2017.
The output of thermal power plants reached 14.824 bln kWh, by 1.389 bln kWh less (-8.6 percent) compared to the same period last year. The hydropower output stood at 11.908 bln kWh, up 2.664 bln kWh (+28.8 pct), while the Cernavoda nuclear power plant produced 6.416 bln kWh, by 76 mln kWh (-1.2 percent) less from the reference period.
The wind power output in the first seven months of the year totaled 3.831 bln kWh, by 446 million kWh less YoY, and photovoltaic energy produced in this period was 1.002 million kWh, by 210.5 million kWh less compared to the same period of 2017.
