President Klaus Iohannis stated on Thursday that the politician's' anti-justice messages are retrograde, even more as some of those people had important positions in the state, adding that he hopes the electorate will sanction them.
"This interesting context in which several politicians, some of them who had the highest positions in the state, have the impression that the anti-justice messages are good for the election campaign. I want very much the voter to prove that the anti- justice messages are the worst way. I'm confident that Romania is the country that will succeed to get rid of corruption and will be able to have a different judiciary, but it seems that today, in preparing the electoral campaign there are politicians who unfortunately count on an anti-justice speech and I hope the voters will sanction them," Iohannis stated after attending the reunion of the Bureau of the European People's Party, that takes place in Bucharest.
He underlined that the institutions are strong enough to handle the politicians' anti-justice posts.
"I don't see a problem here, but I hope the voter will also be convinced that this anti-justice message does not take Romania far, but that it is retrograde and that it would bring us back in an area we don't wish to reach," the head of state added.AGERPRES
