President Klaus Iohannis sent condolences on Saturday, after the announcement of the death of former German President Horst Köhler, saying the latter was "a convinced European", Agerpres reports.
"My sincere condolences upon the passing of former German Federal President Horst Köhler. He was a great statesman and a convinced European. I remember our meeting in Sibiu, during the European Cultural Capital 2007, very fondly," Iohannis wrote on X platform.
Former German Federal President Horst Köhler, who occupied this position between 2004 and 2010, died on Saturday at the age of 81.
