Romania's team won on Friday two gold medals, a silver and a bronze one at the 2018 Invictus Games in Sydney, Australia, a competition for the troops wounded in various war theaters.
Romania is participating in the Invictus Games, held in Sydney on 20-27 October, with a team of 15 military staff wounded in various military actions.
On Friday, Eugen Patru won the gold medal in the individual Olympic archery event, after defeating Italian Fabio Tomasulo 7-1 in the final. A few hours earlier, the Romanian team, composed of Ionut Butoi, Augustin Pegulescu and Dorin Petru, had won the first gold medal in the compound archery event. In the team final, Romania defeated Australia (279-269).
Romania's team (Danut Nicola, Ion Parvu, Eugen Patru) won the silver in the Olympic archery event, by being defeated by Italy 6-4 in the final.
Dorin Petrut won the bronze in the compound archery event, by defeating Australian Garry Robinson 138-137.
The first medal of Romania at this year's Invictus Games, a bronze one, was brought by Dumitru Paraschiva in indoor rowing.
Participating in the Invictus Games are 500 troops from 18 countries.
