The vote of the PSD senators on the simple motion submitted against the environment minister was against the catastrophic management of Diana Buzoianu, PSD's leader Sorin Grindeanu, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, declared on Tuesday.
"Last week, as I announced to you, I went and informed the prime minister about the decisions taken by the PSD or what we want in this scandal. And it's not just a scandal what is happening in Prahova and Dambovita counties related to the lack of water. (...) What was actually in the Senate yesterday was a vote against the catastrophic management of the [environment] minister. And the fact that we are part of a coalition does not make us like children put in a corner and every time there is bad management, we are not confused by certain things and we will report these slippages. As long as there are still people in three counties without water and no one is held accountable, either PSD is part of a coalition or not , first of all we have to answer to those people beyond certain papers. And yes, yesterday we fined this catastrophic management", Grindeanu said in Parliament.
Asked whether he expects a discussion in the coalition, he indicated that such a question should be asked "to the 120,000 people without water".
"First of all, let's talk about those people - 120,000 people without water - who are not interested in the papers and the screams of the minister in Parliament, but those people are still without water. (...) We have communicated our decisions as transparently as possible, without hiding. I tell you that if next week there is a minister, another minister who will endanger or deprive the people of certain rights and certain essential services in Romania, we will act in the same way", the PSD leader said.
The simple motion against the Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, was passed on Monday by the Senate.
There were 74 votes 'for', 43 'against', and one abstention.
The simple motion, entitled "Prahova under siege. Over 100,000 Romanians condemned to thirst and disease under the complicit gaze of the Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu", was initiated by Alliance for the Union of Romanians.
