The president of Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), George Simion, stated that it seems normal to him that Romania should be present at the Board of Peace in Washington, adding, however, that Romania should be at this meeting as a member, and not just as an observer.

"I welcome Romania's presence at the Board of Peace. It seems to me a normal gesture. I believe that Romania must be a member of the Peace Council. The vision of the sovereign movement and the AUR Party is that we will not be able to return to normal, we cannot dare to have a normal society if we do not ally ourselves with our strategic partner. I see it that way, as a normality. I do not do post-factual history, but I believe that the role of observer that Nicusor Dan assumes, counterfactual, forgive me, is unfortunately a decision of a small man and a country without aspiration", George Simion said on Tuesday evening in a press conference at Parliament.

President Nicusor Dan announced on Sunday his participation this week in the first meeting of the Board of Peace, thus responding to the invitation of the US President Donald Trump.

The head of state considers that it is in Romania's interest to participate in the Board of Peace, as an observer.
