Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete is scheduled to hold meetings in Washington, D.C., between April 14 and 18 with representatives of the World Bank and major U.S. healthcare companies, including Pfizer.
According to a release from the Health Ministry, Rogobete's program in the United States will be as follows:
* Wednesday - meeting with Eli Lilly representatives; participation in the round table meeting "Fighting Cancer as Economic Policy: Exploring Approaches for Financing Effective Care for Lung Cancer Patients and the Capacity of Health Systems"; meeting with Pfizer representatives;
* Thursday - meeting with representatives of GEHealthCare; additional formal and informal discussions with World Bank officials;
* Friday - participation in the round table meeting "Actions Initiated at National Level: an Exchange of Views at Ministerial Level on Health System Reforms"; meetings with Medtronic and Pfizer representatives.
"The visit is part of the efforts made by the Minister of Health and government authorities to transform the financial loss related to anti-COVID-19 vaccines into a real benefit for patients, by ensuring access to treatments currently missing from the public system," the Ministry notes.
