A number of 5,922 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 were registered in the last 24 hours, with more than 64,000 tests processed, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Friday, Agerpres reports.
Of the new cases, 528 are in reinfected patients, who tested positive more than 180 days after the first infection.
As of Friday, 1,833,789 cases of infection with the new coronavirus had been registered in Romania, of which 13,317 were in re-infected patients, who tested positive more than 180 days after the first infection.
According to the GCS, 1,756,361 patients were declared cured.
Nationwide, 11,156,877 RT-PCR tests and 6,257,149 rapid antigen tests were processed.
In the last 24 hours, 21,448 RT-PCR tests were performed (9,069 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 12,379 on request) and 42,755 rapid antigen tests.
Apart from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 327 people were reconfirmed positive.
