Organised under the aegis of the Conférence internationale de Doyens et des Facultés de Chirurgie Dentaire d'Expression Totalement ou Partiellement Française (International Confederation of Deans of Francophone Faculties of Dental Surgery) (CIDCDF-AUF), the summit benefits from the partnerships of the health committee of the Romanian Senate and the G6-UMF University Alliance.
Among the participating delegations are representatives from Romania, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Morocco, Senegal, Rwanda, Algeria, Cameroon, Madagascar, Mali, Greece, Albania, Togo, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Benin, the Republic of Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Ivory Coast.
"Francophonie represents a community of knowledge, values and shared responsibility. Through this summit, we reaffirm the power of education and research to unite nations, to build bridges between cultures and to transform science into an instrument of peace and progress. Bucharest thus becomes a hub of Francophone scientific diplomacy, where innovation and solidarity converge for a healthier and more equitable future," said Norina Consuela Forna, president of CIDCDF-AUF, quoted in a press release.
According to the organisers, the topics to be addressed at the summit will range from public policies in health and education to the role of scientific innovation and international partnerships, reflecting the directions of an academic world united by vision and the desire for common progress: developing Francophone public policies in the fields of health, education and research; university cooperation and scientific innovation in the context of Francophone diplomacy; promoting social responsibility and inclusive medical education; the role of public-private partnerships in generating common progress; affirming young Francophone leaders in the academic and medical fields.
The summit programme includes scientific sessions, round tables and workshops, along with a conference held by Mme Pham Minh-Ha (CNRS, France).
"Through its interdisciplinary and international character, the event aims to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation between French-speaking countries, offering a space for strategic reflection on the future of health and medical education in the era of globalisation," reads the same source.
