No oil company in Romania has any reason to increase the pump price of diesel and gasoline today, given that Romania exports approximately one million tons of fuel every year, and we do not depend on what Lukoil produces, declared on Monday in the Chamber of Deputies' Plenary, the Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, during the debates and vote on the motion filed against him.

"You should know that I do not consider it correct for us to request a special derogation for Romania, under the conditions in which we do not depend on this refinery (Petrotel, ed.n) and under the conditions in which another company, preferably Romanian or from the USA, should come to take over the activity of this company and continue producing for Romania and for export on Romanian territory, but with a very clear condition: to no longer finance this illegitimate war started by the Russian Federation. As PSD Minister of Energy, I, as of last week, submitted to the Government a draft normative act that is now being updated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Finance, which must implement these sanctions. "Those who, today, at the pump, in a totally immoral way, come and increase the unjustified price must know that they have a problem with those in the Competition Council, with other institutions that must protect Romanians and to whom I have asked, today, in an official letter, to start procedures to verify how the prices at the pump for diesel and gasoline have increased totally unjustifiably, in the conditions in which the Petrotel refinery has not been operating since mid-October, because it is under technical inspection... No oilman in Romania has any reason to increase, today, the price of diesel and gasoline at the pump, in the conditions in which Romania exports approximately one million tons of fuel, every year. We do not depend on what Lukoil produces, today," Ivan explained, agerpres reports.

The dignitary also mentioned that this winter, the price of natural gas will not increase because the capping scheme is active until March 31, 2026.

"To make one more thing very clear: the price of gas will not increase this winter. We have the capping scheme active until March 31, 2026. We have already started working on mechanisms through which we will ensure that after March 31, 2026 we will not have a sudden increase in the price, as we had with energy, in order to protect Romanians who, many of them, have low incomes, many of them have to choose whether to pay their bills, whether to buy food or medicine. This is about them and for this reason I am treating this subject very seriously. Although I represent the most important party in Parliament, the largest party in Parliament, I want the way in which we rewrite the energy laws to be done in Parliament, in the parliamentary committees, together with people of good faith from all parties. Because when we talk about energy, we are talking about every product that Romanians buy, from bread, to fuels, to school supplies, to sanitary materials. So the Romanian gas produced in Neptun Deep will be used in Romania for the most part," the Minister of Energy pointed out.

The AUR parliamentary group in the Chamber of Deputies submitted on Wednesday, November 12, a simple motion against the Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, entitled ''Romania in the Dark - the Scheduled Bankruptcy of the National Energy System''.

AUR deputies claim in the document that the Ministry of Energy has failed in all "fundamental" dimensions of the act of governance: planning, execution, research, sovereignty and consumer protection, and Romania - "the country that lights up the Balkans" - now lives in fear of power outages.

The signatories also mention that, in addition to all these strategies "which endangered the country's security", the successive closure of the Vidraru hydroelectric power plant, Reactor 1 at Cernavoda and the majority of primary control power plants "clearly" led to an even greater reduction in the country's synchronous energy reserve.
