Emma Raducanu, Jaqueline Cristian and Sorana Cirstea headline Transylvania Open 2026 main draw

Players Emma Raducanu, Jaqueline Cristian and Sorana Cirstea will compete at the 2026 edition of the Transylvania Open (WTA 250) tennis tournament in Cluj-Napoca, the organizers announced on Thursday.

Born to a Romanian father, Grand Slam champion Emma Raducanu will be present for the second time at the Transylvania Open. The main draw also includes Gabriela Ruse.

Tournament director Patrick Ciorcila said he is happy about Raducanu's return to Cluj after a five-year absence.

"We are once again bringing a top tennis tournament to Cluj-Napoca, with a strong main draw featuring world-class players and many Romanian athletes who fully deserve the public's support. The return of Emma Raducanu after five years makes us especially happy, the more so as we know how much she is loved in Romania. We are honored to be a tournament that players choose to return to year after year - for the atmosphere, for the excellent conditions and for the extraordinary audience in the BTarena. This year, we have invested even more in off-court experiences, so that the tournament is a complete experience for both the audience and the players," said Ciorcila.

The sixth edition of the Transylvania Open will take place from January 31 to February 7 at the BTarena in Cluj-Napoca. The matches will be played indoors, on two hard courts. A total of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams will compete for the grand trophy.

The total prize money for the Cluj-Napoca tournament is $283,347.
