National Defence Minister Ionut Mosteanu met on Friday with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Romania Kap-soo Rim, context in which they discussed about the bilateral cooperation in the defence area.
According to a release of the National Defence Ministry (MApN) sent to AGERPRES, the discussions at the MApN headquarters were aimed at the current state and opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the defence area, amid the latest developments in the regional and international security environment, taking into account the mutual interests in terms of keeping peace and stability, as well as the importance of continuing to grant assistance to Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.
Minister Mosteanu highlighted the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries and voiced his appreciation for the Republic of Korea's participation in various international security initiatives, the quoted source mentioned.
"The Republic of Korea is a valuable partner of Romania and the constant and open dialogue in the defence area contributes to strengthening regional and global security. We are interested in developing joint projects in areas such as training and technical-military cooperation," the Romanian minister stated, as quoted in the release.
In his turn, Ambassador Kap-soo Rim underscored the openness of the Korean side to deepen political-military dialogue and expand bilateral cooperation in the defence area.
