The chairman of PSD Bucharest, Daniel Baluta, claims that Romania is collapsing with Ilie Bolojan as prime minister and it is very important that he resigns from this position in a timely manner, in order to identify ways to recover the country's economy.

Asked by journalists, on Monday, in a press conference, what question he thinks the Social Democrats should answer on April 20, when the internal consultation on whether or not to leave the government will take place, he said: "I'll tell you what question I would answer. Mr. Bolojan is not suitable for the position of Prime Minister (...). Romania is collapsing with Mr. Bolojan as Prime Minister and it is not important, but very important. It is my point of view that Mr. Bolojan should give up this position in due time, because in this way we will manage to identify ways by which we can recover Romania's economy and not simply bury ourselves in the name of the deficit."

Baluta added that Ilie Bolojan's name in 'any formula' would be 'a joke', answering a question about what he would choose: a motion of censure voted with AUR or a minority government, led by Ilie Bolojan.

"It would be a joke to tell you about Mr. Ilie Bolojan in any formula. We cannot support Mr. Bolojan. We cannot support this catastrophe - 30% decrease in purchasing power, 25% decrease in consumption, 10% inflation, the impossibility of borrowing at a competitive interest rate on the European financial markets. Moreover, people don't want to give us money anymore. The fact that you struggle for eight weeks to borrow for 12 months says a lot. The fact that no one wants to give you a loan for 35 months says even more," the mayor of Sector 4 also claimed.

The social democrat emphasized that Romania, in this vision, has absolutely no perspective.

"These are the results of this government and it is a matter of logic. If you cut from somewhere, you have to find certain elements that stimulate the economy (...) You manage to fire people, increase taxes and duties and where these measures should be reflected, the savings you make in investments, you cut those too. If you, logically, find a way for Romania to have a perspective, please tell me! If this seems like a vision to you, to cut everywhere, please tell me! Romania in this form and formula, in this vision, has absolutely no perspective, and these negative figures will continue to grow from one month to the next, because what is happening has no logic, that is what it is about", declared the chairman of PSD Bucharest.
