At a sitting on Monday, the ruling coalition analysed the main issues of public interest, with a focus on the impact of the increase in fuel prices on thepublic and the economy.
According to an official press statement, the coalition leaders discussed concrete measures to contain the effects of this crisis and agreed that, in the immediate future, new measures will be adopted to protect the public and keep up economic balances.
Thus, the main measure considered is a cut in excise duties on fuels.
At the same time, the coalition decided to cap the markups on basic foods for another three months.
To promote a new set of measures, the coalition mandated a working group, consisting of Deputy Prime Ministers Marian Neacsu and Tanczos Barna, Minister of Finance Alexandru Nazare, Minister of Energy Bogdan Ivan and Minister of Economy Irineu Daru.
