The National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) carried out, between December 22 and 30, within the framework of the 2025 Winter Command, control actions on over 300 business operators in tourist resorts, following which it levied fines worth approximately 679,000 lei.
According to a press release from the ANPC, as a result of the non-conformities found, the ANPC commissioners applied the following sanctions: 117 minor offense fines, worth approximately 679,000 lei; 179 warnings; permanent stop from marketing non-compliant products, worth over 25,000 lei; temporary stop from marketing some products worth over 11,000 lei; suspension of service provision until deficiencies are remedied for eight business operators, agerpres reports.
The main non-conformities found were: products with expired consumption dates; culinary preparations with altered thermal conditions; failure to comply with the storage conditions and temperatures provided by the manufacturer, the products being stored directly on the floor of the food block; lack of mention of the country of origin for products of plant origin; culinary products and preparations without identification and characterization elements; use of equipment/utensils with a high degree of wear, with coarse deposits of ice, rust, impurities; lack of display of prices and other information necessary for consumers; lack of protective covers for pillows in accommodation units.
ANPC emphasizes that control actions will be carried out throughout the winter holiday season, at national level, in order to ensure a high level of consumer protection.
