Romania should accelerate the professional integration of the more than 180,000 Ukrainian refugees currently in the country, including by recognizing their diplomas within a maximum of 90 days, Cristina Chiriac, president of the National Confederation for Women's Entrepreneurship (CONAF), said on Tuesday at a specialist event.
"In Romania we have over 180,000 Ukrainian refugees who, instead of being integrated as an active, well-qualified workforce on the Romanian labor market, continue to swell the ranks of the recipients of certain social benefits and so on," the CONAF president said at a debate organised by the Coalition for Trade and Communication Freedom (CLCC), agerpres reports.
According to her, one of the solutions is to speed up the process of recognizing studies and professional qualifications.
"There is also the option of having diplomas accredited in a very short or relatively short period, a maximum of 90 days, so that Romanian entrepreneurs can integrate this incredible labor force we have," Cristina Chiriac said.
In her view, integrating refugees into the labor market could help reduce pressure on the public budget and cover staff shortages in key sectors of the economy.
The Coalition for Trade and Communication Freedom (CLCC) organised Tuesday's debate titled: "New rules on the labor market. Hiring foreign workers, salary transparency in companies and during recruitment, avoiding professional stress; new rules, new situations".
