Minister of Foreign Affairs Lazar Comanescu met on Saturday with Norwegian counterpart Borge Brende on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference; on this occasion, the Romanian official reiterated the idea of the two states' authorities cooperating in the cases of Romanian children taken in custody by Norwegian authorities.
According to a Foreign Ministry release to AGERPRES, the two officials also discussed specific such cases, with Comanescu reiterating the importance of a constructive approach to this subject through a direct and effective cooperation between the two states' authorities in charge.
"The stage and the dynamic pace of the two states' bilateral relations were also assessed against their status of NATO allies and partners in the European Economic Area (EEA). The substantial cooperation within the framework of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism and the EEA, as well as the dynamic evolution of economic relations were also highlighted," reads the release.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the sides expressed satisfaction over the good coordination under the umbrella of the North Atlantic Alliance, with talks affirming the interest of both countries in deepening this cooperation, including from the perspective of the upcoming NATO Summit in Warsaw, and of the strengthening of the organization's eastern flank.
