Code Yellow warning for heatwave, thermal discomfort in Bucharest, nine counties until Thursday morning

Nine counties and the Municipality of Bucharest are subject to a Code Yellow warning of heatwave and thermal discomfort, until Thursday morning, informs the National Meteorological Administration (ANM).

According to the specialized forecast, between July 15, 12.00 pm - July 17, 10.00 am, in areas of Tulcea, Constanta, Ialomita, Calarasi, Ilfov, Giurgiu, Teleorman, Gorj, Dolj counties and in Bucharest the heatwave will persist, and the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will slightly exceed the critical threshold of 80 units, agerpres reports.

Maximum temperatures will be between 34 and 37 degrees, while nights will be tropical, with minimum values of 19 - 22 degrees.

In the Capital City, between July 15, 12.00 pm and July 16, 10.00 am, there will be heatwave and high thermal discomfort. The sky will be temporarily cloudy and there will probably be light showers. The wind will blow weakly and moderately. The maximum temperature will be around 35 degrees, and the minimum will oscillate between 18 and 21 degrees.

Also, from Wednesday morning to Thursday, at 10.00 am, the weather will continue to be very hot in Bucharest, with variable skies, temporarily with clouds in the second part of the day and at night, when the probability of showers, lightning and wind intensification will be high. The maximum of the day will rise to 35 degrees, while the minimum will fall within the range of 19 - 21 degrees.
