The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA) issued a Code Yellow for floods on rivers in 14 counties, valif from Friday, 12:00, until Saturday, 9:00, based on the current hydrometeorological situation and the weather forecast for the next 24 hours.
According to the INHGA, as a result of the forecasted precipitation and its propagation, significant runoff may occur on slopes, torrents and streams, rapid floods on small rivers, with possible local flood effects. Moreover, increases in flow rates and water levels are forecasted, with the probability of exceeding the attention thresholds
The Hydrological warning targets certain river sections in the counties of Arges, Dambovita, Prahova, Ilfov, Ialomita, Brasov, Covasna, Buzau, Vrancea, Galati, Bacau, Vaslui, Constanta and Tulcea.
"In this context, the population is advised to exercise caution and avoid activities near watercourses or in flood-prone areas. Residents are recommended not to cross improvised bridges or roads covered by water, to protect their property and households through preventive measures and to follow the instructions of local authorities. At the same time, it is important for citizens to stay informed through official channels and monitor the development of the hydrometeorological situation," the INHGA conveyed.
