The National Bank of Romania (BNR) will put into circulation as of Monday, for numismatic purposes, a gold coin dedicated to the History of Gold - The votive plates from Germisara, Agerpres reports.
According to a release of the central bank, the obverse of the coin depicts the votive plates unearthed at Geoagiu-Bai (Germisara), with the face value "10 LEI", the inscription "ROMANIA", the coat of arms of Romania and the year of issue "2025".
The reverse presents a detail featuring the goddess Diana hunting, the inscriptions "PLACUTELE VOTIVE DE LA GERMISARA" and "ISTORIA AURULUI" in an arc.
The gold coins are housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by booklets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue and certificates of authenticity in Romanian, English and French. The certificates of authenticity bear the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.
The maximum mintage is 1,000 gold coins.
The selling price for the gold coin, including the booklet and the certificate of authenticity, is lei 1,500.00, VAT excluded. The gold coins dedicated to the History of Gold - The votive plates from Germisara are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
The coins are put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the BNR in Bucharest, Cluj, Constanta, Dolj, Iasi and Timis.
