The National Consumer Protection Authority (ANPC) imposed fines amounting to RON 450,000 on a number of 27 companies supplying electricity and natural gas, during the controls carried out by the Energy Command of the institution from January 6 to 13, mentions a press release sent on Friday by ANPC, Agerpres reports.
In this first week of controls, the ANPC commissioners checked 72 workstations of the energy supply economic operators from the whole country, mentions the release.
In addition to fines, ANPC ordered suppliers in whose case irregularities were identified to recalculate all bills that do not comply with the law.
At the same time, ANPC issued 4 proposals to end unfair commercial practices in relation to consumers.
During this period, ANPC verified the workstations of the following energy supply companies: CEZ Vanzare SA, Distrigaz Sud Retele, Engie Romania, RCS & RDS SA, Enel Energie Muntenia, Electrica Furnizare SA, Digi Energy, Pado Group Infrastructures SRL, E. ON Energie Romania SA, Euro Seven Industry SRL, Restart Energy One SRL, Gaz Vest, Megaconstruct SA, Gazmir Iasi SRL, Grenerg SRL, Res Energy Solutions SA, Distrigaz Vest SA, CPL Concordia Romania SRL, CIS Gaz SA, Speakover Romance SRL, Premier Energy SRL, Gaz Nord Est Harlau, Prisma Serv Company SRL, Gaz Est SA, Prisma Gaz SRL, MVM Trade Energy Plus SRL, Nova Power, Electric & Gaz Power Trade SRL, SST Group Transilvania SRL, Nord Gaz SRL.
The ANPC Energy Command will continue the verifications until March 31, 2022.
During this period, if they find irregularities in the electricity and gas bills, consumers can file a complaint online or in writing at the offices of the County Commissariats for Consumer Protection.
