Austrian National Youth Orchestra Wiener Jeunesse Orchester will give an extraordinary concert at the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest today as part of the Magic Summer International Festival.

The ensemble, founded in 1987 in Vienna, consists of talented students aged between 18 and 26 from all Austrian cities.

The orchestra will perform, under the baton of conductor Herbert Bock, an exciting repertoire, including works by Leonard Bernstein, Wolfgang Korngold and Gustav Mahler.

The concert will begin with the Candide Overture by Leonard Bernstein. Composed in 1956, the overture is a sample of orchestral virtuosity, combining elements of classical music and jazz, characteristic of Bernstein's eclectic style.

The audience will also have the opportunity to listen to the Violin Concerto in D major by Wolfgang Korngold, and at the end of the evening the Wiener Jeunesse Orchester will perform Symphony no. 1 in D major "The Titan" by Gustav Mahler.

In August, the public is invited to three concerts: the Slovenian Youth Orchestra - on August 7; the Romanian Youth Orchestra, conducted by Cristian Mandeal, on August 14; The Magic Summer International Festival ends on August 21 with a concert by Sinfonietta Orchestra, conductor and soloist violinist Alexander Sitkovetsky.
