Weightlifting: Romania wins a total of 14 medals at the European Junior and U-23 Championships

Romania won 14 medals at the European Junior and Under-23 Weightlifting Championships in Durres (Albania), four gold, three silver and seven bronze.

Mihaela Valentina Cambei won three gold medals in the 53 kg category, U-23, and Tiberiu Donose won gold in the 79 kg category (snatch), juniors.

Silver medals were won by juniors Daniel Dorobete in the 65 kg category (snatch), Dana Berchi in the 58 kg category (snatch), as well as Anca Georgiana Grosu in the 63 kg category (clean and jerk), U-23.

Bronze medals were won by Andreea Cotruta in the 63 kg category (snatch), U-23, as well as juniors Tiberiu Donose in the 79 kg category (total), Dana Berchi in the 58 kg (snatch and total), Narcis Papolti in the 60 kg category (snatch and total), Alexia Diana Sipos in 53 kg category (clean and jerk).

On Tuesday, the last representative of Romania, Darius Stefan Tataru, performed in the 94 kg category, Under-23, ranking 7th in the snatch, with 146 kg, after missing the last attempt, at 151 kg, he was fourth in the clean and jerk, with 190 kg, after missing the last two attempts, at 195 kg, and in total he ranked 7th, with 336 kg.

Romania participated with a group of 15 athletes, 11 in juniors and 4 in the U-23, at the European Junior and Youth Championships in Durres (October 28 - November 5).
