Social Democratic Party (PSD) does not agree with the approach regarding the suspension of investments, the party's president Sorin Grindeanu said on Monday, emphasizing that each project must be analyzed individually.
"A paper that went to the territory on Friday from the Ministry of Development to local authorities on the suspension of investments until the end of the year. We are talking about almost 2,700 water, sewerage, gas and road investments. We do not agree with this approach. Each investment must be analyzed separately, we must see if the conservation costs are not higher than what the budgetary effort would mean now to complete that investment. And, yes, we must analyze whether the measures in the first package ultimately achieve the target we set ourselves - that of reducing the deficit. I expect that we will also be called upon to contribute with measures to relaunch the economy and we have prepared a package of measures from this point of view and work is underway, because otherwise we will enter a vicious circle - we keep cutting, we keep adding extra taxes and we end up in economic recession, which we do not want. There is not better collection - and they were below plan in June - things are not going well in the tax collection area", Grindeanu said in Parliament.
He stressed that such a measure must be discussed in the coalition.
Asked whether this topic was discussed with the prime minister, he specified that during the meeting held on Monday at noon, it was conveyed that the approach was not finalized. "So, we will have to analyze investment by investment, there is no other way. (...) Each investment must be analyzed, not decisions made in the office", the PSD leader pointed out.
