The National Political Bureau of the National Liberal Party (PNL) gave a vote of confidence on Monday evening to the party leader, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, confirming majority support for the leader of the formation.

According to a PNL press release, 47 votes were recorded "in favour" and three votes "against".

PNL Chair Ilie Bolojan and the Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, presented the main directions of the economic recovery package, which is currently being finalised.

The Minister of Finance stressed that the package was built following analyses carried out within a working group, so that the proposed measures are compatible with Romania's macroeconomic objectives and support economic development in the medium and long term, the cited source stated.

The PNL release mentions that the economic recovery package is structured around two major pillars. "The first targets the reconfiguration of state aid schemes, through the launch of seven dedicated programmes, including for mineral resources and critical raw materials, research and development and new technologies, as well as the defence industry. The second pillar has a broad fiscal component, addressed to micro-enterprises and the entire business environment," the cited source shows.
