The National Forestry Corporation Romsilva signed on January 30 a financing contract for a 73.5-million-RON project to implement an integrated IT system across the institution, the company announced. The system, developed with support from the Authority for Romania's Digitalization and funded through the Smart Growth, Digitalization and Financial Instruments Program, will enable online access to Romsilva's main public services, the company announced in a release.

According to the company, the platform will allow the digital management of forest protection and management contracts, online requests for timber inventories, issuance of access permits for national and natural parks, recreational fishing permits, information on the forest fund, and electronic submission and resolution of petitions.

The project also aims to automate internal workflows, improve interoperability with other public institutions, enhance data quality and decision-making, and train staff to use the new system. Its implementation is expected to reduce bureaucracy and align Romsilva's operations with European e-government standards.

The project's eligible value is 73.525 million RON, of which 55.107 million RON come from the European Regional Development Fund and 18.419 million RON from the national budget.
