Romanian tennis player Irina Bara and Latvian Darja Semenistaja qualified for the semifinals of the doubles event of the WTA 125 tournament in Madrid, with total prizes of 100,000 euros, on Thursday, after a 6-4, 7-5 victory over the British-Czech pair Alicia Barnett/Ivana Sebestova.
Bara and his partner achieved victory after one hour and 25 minutes.
The Romanian-Latvian pair secured a check for 1,480 euros and 49 WTA points in doubles.
In the penultimate act, Bara and Semenistaja will play against the Spanish pair Marina Bassols Ribera/Andrea Lazaro Garcia.
