Romanian tennis player Stefan Palosi qualified, on Thursday, for the quarterfinals of the challenger tournament in Itajai (Brazil), equipped with total prizes worth 107,000 US dollars, after defeating Ecuadorian Alvaro Guillen Meza, 6-2, 7-6 (7/3).
Palosi (25 years old, 484 ATP), coming from the qualifications, sealed his victory after 2 hours and 11 minutes of play, also taking advantage of the 8 double faults committed by Guillen Meza (23 years old, 195 ATP), seed no. 8, agerpres reports.
The Romanian won a cheque of 3,095 US dollars and 16 ATP points, and in the quarterfinals he will face Spaniard Nikolas Sanchez Izquierdo (26 years old, 306 ATP).
