The unemployment rate in Romania reached 5.3% in November 2024, down 0.1 percentage points compared to October 2024, according to the data published on Wednesday by the National Statistics Institute (INS).
The unemployment rate for men was 0.5 percentage points higher than for women.
The number of unemployed (aged 15-74) estimated for the month of November 2024 was 435,600 people, down compared to the previous month (441,100 people) and compared to the same period of the previous year (449,400 people).
By gender, the unemployment rate for men exceeded that of women by 0.5 percentage points (the values ??being 5.5% for men and 5% for women).
INS mentions that the unemployment rate among young people (15-24 years old) remains at a high level of 25.3%, between July and September 2024.
For adults (25-74 years old), the unemployment rate was estimated at 4% for November 2024 (3.8% for women and 4.1% for men).
The number of unemployed aged 25-74 represents 70.9% of the total number of unemployed estimated for the month of November 2024.
