The world's top woman tennis player, Simona Halep, has the most WTA victories this year by September 10, both overall and on hard surface, according to statistics published by WTA Insider.
Halep has 46 overall wins, as many as Petra Kvitova, but the Czech has three more defeats. Mihaela Buzarnescu is also in the top 10, on the 9th spot, with 36 wins.
On the hard surface, Halep is the leader with 28 wins, followed by Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, with 26 victories.
Worth noting is the fact that Halep has the fewest tournaments played in the top 15.
She has three titles won this year at Shenzhen, Roland Garros and Montreal, and finals lost at the Australian Open, Rome and Cincinnati.
