State Secretary for Inter-Institutional Relations with the Romanian Foreign Ministry (MAE) Maria Magdalena Grigore opened on Monday the fifth session of a joint committee tasked with organising the Romania-France season.
MAE quotes Grigore as underscoring that through the efforts of the two countries, 10 years after they signed a strategic partnership, the two countries are symbolically linked to the Centennial of Romania's Greater Union, but also to the Romania-France season, with the latter representing a celebration of the historical and contemporary ties between the two countries.
She pointed out that it is important to recall the political vocation of the season, and that its first objective is to bring the two societies closer, giving them the opportunity to rediscover each other.
Grigore said that the Romania-France season represents an opportunity for both countries to renew and develop their co-operation and dialogue.
She also underlined that in the near future a presidential visit, a prime ministerial visit and numerous ministerial meetings will take place. She showed that during the whole season the bilateral relations between Romania and France will be celebrated, taking advantage of the many meetings that the Romanian presidency of the Council of the EU offers.
