Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Romania in June 2024 was up 0.1% to 5.5% on a monthly basis, according to data with the National Institute of Statistics (INS) published on Thursday.
Male unemployment rate was 0.4 percentage points higher than female unemployment rate.
The number of adult unemployed (aged 15-74) estimated for June 2024 was 447,100 people, down from the previous month (452,100 people), and also year-on-year (459,300 people).
Male unemployment rate exceeded female unemployment rate by 0.4%, 5.6% to 5.2%.
According to INS, the high level of 20.5% youth unemployment rate (15-24 years old) continues to attract attention. Adult unemployment rate (25-74 years old) was estimated at 4.4% in June 2024 (4.2% female unemployment and 4.6% male unemployment). Adult unemployment made up 76.7% of the total unemployment estimated for June 2024.
