The main facade of the Palace of Parliament will light up in green this evening to raise awareness over Leigh Syndrome, a type of primary mitochondrial disease.

According to the Chamber of Deputies, the action takes place following the proposal of the Committee on Health and Family, at the initiative of the Friends of Stefi Association.

Between September 15 and 21, a global campaign to raise awareness of mitochondrial diseases takes place, and September 17 is the day to raise awareness over Leigh Syndrome, a severe neurometabolic, multisystemic and neurodegenerative disorder.
