Romanian girls win four medals at European Informatics Olympiad

Team Romanian has won four medals at the European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics.

According to the Ministry of Education and Research, the four medal winners are:

* Ilinca-Rucsandra Radu, eighth grade, Infogym Collegiate High School of Iasi, silver medal

* Ema-Nicole Gheorghe, 10th grade, Bucharest International Theoretical High School of Informatics, silver medal

* Laura Moldovan, eleventh grade, Tudor Vianu National Informatics Collegiate High School of Bucharest, silver medal

* Iulia-Ela Murariu, eighth grade, Emil Racovita Collegiate High School of Cluj-Napoca, bronze medal

The fifth edition of the European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI) took place in Bonn, Germany, July 14-20.

As many as 228 contestants from 60 countries competed, including 27 from other continents then Europe.

Three of the Romanian contestants are at their first participation in EGOI.

The team was coordinated by the Society for Excellence and Performance in Informatics (SEPI), which ensured the selection and preparation of the team: Raluca Costineanu - Stefan cel Mare Collegiate High School of Suceava and Alexandra Udristoiu - University of Bucharest. AGERPRES
