"The Ministry of Labor aims for Romania to achieve by 2027 an employment rate of disabled people of at least 55% of their total number, and at least 4% of the staff of public companies and institutions with more than 50 employees to be people with disabilities. One of the measures to stimulate employers for the permanent employment of people with disabilities and graduates among people with disabilities is the granting of a subsidy of approximately 450 euros for a period of 18 months", reads a press release of the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity, posted on the institution's Facebook account.
The competent minister, Simona Bucura-Oprescu, participated on Wednesday, in Budapest, in the high-level conference dedicated to people with disabilities with the theme "You are Value!". The event was organized in the context of the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
During the Conference, the ministerial panel coordinated by Attila Fulop - Minister of State for Care within the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Hungary took place, on which occasion Simona Bucura-Oprescu brought to attention Romania's projects for the integration of people with disabilities on the labor market.
"Yes, 'You are value!' is the right message! Each of us has something to say, something to add to the life of our community. Together we can transform disability into the ability to succeed. Through genuine concern for those in need and through their real integration in society and on the labor market, we lay the foundations for inclusion and dignity for people with disabilities. The Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity promotes and supports the integration of people with disabilities on the labor market, through social economy programs, employment initiatives and dedicated projects both employees with disabilities and their employers. People with disabilities are an essential part of our society, and their skills and qualities are a valuable resource for the labor market, even if barriers still persist. We want to build a society where every person has the chance to contribute, succeed and be appreciated", said Simona Bucura-Oprescu, quoted in the press release.
