Romania's Minister of European Investment and Projects Adrian Caciu on Thursday signed a consultancy agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), part of the World Bank Group, for the strengthening of the ministry's administrative capacity for the preparation and implementation of the Cohesion Policy 2021-2027.
"Through this agreement, we make sure that the ministry has the necessary resources to efficiently coordinate investments on European funds and to ensure their rigorous monitoring. Strengthening the administrative capacity is essential for achieving Romania's objectives under the new Cohesion Policy and for implementing the structural reforms that the country needs," Caciu wrote in a social media post on Thursday.
The agreement signed by Caciu and the new country coordinator for Romania and Hungary of the World Bank, Yasser El-Gammal, will secure better strategic planning and efficient coordination of EU funds.
This partnership is said to help to rigorously monitor projects and maximise the impact of investments on Romania's economic and social development.
