Romania participates in the Francophonie Village in Paris running between October 2 - 6 in tandem with the 19th Summit of the International Organisation of La Francophonie, and intended as a forum where French-speaking countries from all over the world can present their cultures, initiatives and heritage to the general public. Romania's program, designed under the motto "La Roumanie, j'en ai envie!", showcases important music, performing arts and film events, including the George Enescu International Festival and Competition, the Sibiu International Theater Festival, and the National Theater Festival, a release by the Culture Ministry states, informs Agerpres.
The Village de la Francophonie/Francophonie Village is organized in Centquatre-Paris, an exceptional historic architectural hub of innovation and culture in the heart of the 19th arrondissement, to offer a concoction showcasing the diversity and wealth of the Francophone world.
"It is both an honor and a pleasure to invite you to explore Romania's diverse culture through our presence at the Village de la Francophonie. Under the motto 'La Roumanie, j'en ai envie!', we offer you an open window to the cultural diversity and rich creativity of Romania, a nation where tradition meets innovation and whose creativity flourishes through music, theater, film and arts, favoring dialogue and international collaboration. Romania's participation reaffirms our belonging to the francophone values of peace and innovation. In an increasingly interconnected world, culture is a bridge that brings us together and helps us build a more harmonious and inclusive society. One of the events featured at the Village de la Francophonie is "Poetic Consultations", a project produced by Théâtre de la Ville - Paris, based on an idea by French director Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota, with the participation of two actors from of the 'Radu Stanca' National Theater in Sibiu and two actors from Teatro della Pergola. The project enjoyed great success in 2023 at the Sibiu International Theater Festival and will be presented in the Francophonie Village on Thursday from 12:00 to 14:00, and from 15:00 to 18:00.
On Saturday, Salle 200 of the Centquatre-Paris will host as of 11:30 an exceptional concert by the Radio Chamber Orchestra together with violinist Valentin Serban, winner of the 17th Enescu Competition. On the bill are works by Enescu, Silvestri, Mendelssohn, Saint-Saens and Bartok, in a succession thread of direct and indirect links that lead to a single pole: George Enescu.

Also on Saturday, from 14:00 p.m., Agora Écurie will serve as venue for the George Enescu International Festival Panel, an engine for promoting universal music and a model of inter-cultural cooperation, with debates on Franco-Romanian cultural cooperation, and theater as a Francophone identity vector.
By participating in the Village de la Francophonie Romania aims to highlight the transformative power of culture and art in building a more united and more beautiful world, states the cited release.
Romania's national stand at the Village de la Francophonie is a cultural project financed by the government of Romania through the Culture Ministry.
