President Klaus Iohannis will welcome Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace on Friday, with whom he will discuss priority themes on the European agenda.
The two officials will hold tete-a-tete and official talks and will hold a joint press statement.
According to a press release from the Presidential Administration, talks between President Klaus Iohannis and Chancellor Sebastian Kurz will address priority themes on the European agenda, such as the reflection on the future of the European Union, the post-2020 EU budget, the withdrawal process of the United Kingdom from the EU, elections to the European Parliament. Issues regarding the bilateral relationship between Romania and Austria will be also discussed.
The Austrian official's visit to Romania takes place in the context of Romania taking over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from Austria as of 1 January 2019.
