Police officers and prosecutors are carrying out, on Thursday morning, 17 home searches in Bucharest and in nine counties across the country, in a criminal case investigating the crime of voter bribery.
The investigation aims to document the criminal activities of the individuals involved.
"Police officers from the IGPR - Directorate for Investigating Economic Crime and the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice - Criminal Prosecution Section are coordinating the execution of 17 home searches in the municipality of Bucharest and the counties of Brasov, Botosani, Calarasi, Dolj, Galati, Giurgiu, Maramures, Mures and Timis, at the residences of individuals, in a criminal case where investigations are being carried out regarding the commission of the crime of voter bribery," informs the Press Office of the Romanian Police.
The operation involves police officers from the IGPR - Directorate for Investigating Economic Crime, with the support of the National Institute of Forensic Science, the "Vlad Tepes" Special Intervention Brigade of the Gendarmerie and the police inspectorates of Brasov, Botosani, Dolj, Galati, Maramures, Mures and Timis counties.
