On Thursday, prime minister Marcel Ciolacu asked the minister of education, Ligia Deca, to come up with proposals to complete and amend the legislation in order to take measures in relation to the sexual harassment cases in the university environment.
"We start with a topic that has been in the forefront of public life in recent days - specific cases of sexual harassment in the university environment. We definitely cannot accept such situations and there will be no tolerance for such acts, regardless of the name of the aggressor," said the prime minister, at the beginning of the Government meeting.
He added that it is essential for the authorities to take the necessary measures.
"I ask the minister of education, Ms. Ligia Deca, to come next week with proposals to complete and amend the legislation, in dialogue with the National Council of Rectors. I think our society expects a simple and clear fact - the law should really protect the victims, and the aggressors should be quickly brought to justice," Ciolacu said.
