The National Bank of Romania (BNR)'s foreign exchange reserves went up in September by 1.16 percent, to 31.421 billion euro, as opposed to the level registered at the end of August, according to a press release sent by the institution to AGERPRES, on Monday.
During the month, 1.418 billion euro worth of inflows representing changes in credit institutions' foreign currency-denominated required reserves, inflows into the Ministry of Public Finance's accounts, and other.
At the same time, 1.057 billion euro worth of outflows representing changes in credit institutions' foreign currency-denominated required reserves, interest payments and principal repayments on foreign currency public debt and other.
The gold stock remained unchanged at 103.7 tonnes, and following the change in the international price of gold, its value amounted to 3.403 billion euro.
On September 30, 2018, Romania's international reserves (foreign currencies and gold) stood at 34.824 billion euro, as compared to 34.508 billion euro on August 31, 2018.
The payments due in October 2018 on the foreign currency-denominated public and publicly guaranteed debt amount to approximately 409 million euro.
